Sunwoo auditioned for Cre.ker as a vocalist with Crush's Sofa but fell in love with rapping as a trainee and debuted as The Boyz' main rapper. Prior to their debut, he appeared on Mnet's High School Rapper when he was a first-year student in Hanlim studying applied music.

In middle school, Sunwoo was part of his school's football team before realizing his dream to become an artist. He decided to join Cre.ker when he saw the boyz as trainees practicing.

In his free time, Sunwoo enjoys playing games, watching movies and making music. He's credited for writing the rap in some of The Boyz' songs. He featured in his high school classmate, onewe cya's soundcloud track, came true. He also wishes to release his mixtape someday.

Sunwoo often does vlive broadcasts and writes letters on fancafe that he titles 선우의 하루 / sunwoo's day. He sees these as a way to communicate with deobis and give happiness.

When asked to give a nickname for fans, Sunwoo picked "구르미" as he thinks the clouds look pretty next to the sun.
